When people work collaboratively, conflict will always arise. Understanding the nature and sources of conflict and its progression and stages, resolution and outcome is one of the important aspect of leadership. Causes of conflict include the miscomprehension of communication, emotional issues, personal history and values. When the difference is understood and the resultant behaviour is properly addressed, most conflict will be resolved in a way that provides desired change in an organisation and interrelationships. When leaders are very well informed, they can effectively prevent destructive conflicts.
